# Protocol Overview

Summoning from the shrouds of Fantom, Soul Protocol emerges. A fully decentralized multi-chain ecosystem that has enabled cross-chain incentives without inflating the emission rate.

## **The Dream?**

Decentralized powerhouse with interoperability ingrained from the very start. We have taken bits and pieces of what has worked for other projects that will never be able to do what we can do, thanks to the gift of hindsight. We plan to channel only the best of the best into our ecosystem. Now, allow us to convince you how we achieve this and why we are different from those that come before us.

<div align="center"><img src="https://410881439-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-legacy-files/o/assets%2F-MV5V3MW5VS3EKLI4bVK%2F-MfzvVj82KVQNPBjJ85f%2F-MfzvuDwZYkKZtf8PHSA%2Fswaprun.gif?alt=media&amp;token=46d54a1e-7510-4269-8a41-d6091ae6edb5" alt=""></div>

### **Why Fantom and Avalanche?**

It's a no brainer! In very simple terms, why would we want to drive a slower car that costs more to run? While Fantom and Avalanche may not have the level of adoption Ethereum does at current, we believe in their ability and drive to get it mighty close in the foreseeable future.&#x20;

Sure, launching on Ethereum would be the easiest thing to do and probably receive faster initial uptake, but we like a challenge and are betting on Fantom's future.

Faster, cheaper, more resilient? **Sold.**

### **What makes us different?**

We’re here to build upon the work of the likes of Uniswap, SushiSwap, and PancakeSwap. We respect these protocol so much, in fact, we replicated their work from the ground up. \
\
We **improved** upon Uniswap's governance model, adopted incentives from Sushi and Pancake, while **eliminating** the oligarchy inherent in the UNI's governance model, and the static, one-dimensional rewards mechanism inherent in Sushi and Pancake.\
\
We **eliminate** the smart contract bug tied to emergency withdrawal and thereby **liberate** the ingenius Syrup model PancakeSwap invented, though no longer able to utilize, whilst **adding** a dynamic rewards structure **enabling rewards distribution to exist on multiple blockchains without increasing inflation**.&#x20;

**What does that mean exactly?** We’re pushing the boundaries of decentralized finance with a focus on gamification and future-proofing our tech with elements right out the minds of blockchain developers, marketing experts, economists, front-end web3 developers, and some friends with deep pockets who know what we are capable of achieving and are eager to show their support.

# Governance Structure

Here we provide a brief overview of our proposal process and Community-owned Treasury.

In the long term, we envision Soul Protocol to be a community governed protocol, such as a DAO. SOUL is a governance token that enables holders to vote on community proposals.&#x20;

### Proposals

Community proposals will be submitted to our forums, where members can discuss its merits and clarify questions. Proposals may be brought up for voting by core team members, if they gain sufficient traction. Please see the Forum for full details regarding the structure for proposals.

### Voting Process

Proposals will be voted on, with **AURA** to decide the outcome.&#x20;

Our voting platform may be found here: <https://enchant.soulswap.finance>

**AURA** is determined by:

* **SOUL** paired with **FTM or USDC** is worth **2 AURA** per underlying **SOUL.**
* **SEANCE** paired with **FTM or USDC** are worth **2 AURA** per underlying **SEANCE.**
* **SOUL** held by in your wallet is worth **1 AURA** each.
* **SEANCE** held by users is worth **1 AURA** eac&#x68;**.**

**Please note:** to be an eligible voter for any proposal on our Snapshot, you must have **AURA** from any or all of the 3 above options ***at the time of the vote being started*****.** This means that you ***cannot simply buy SOUL to vote on an already ongoing vote,*** and is meant to reduce the risk of influence by whales and flash-loaners.

For a vote to pass and become binding, it must gain a quorum of at least **1,000,000 AURA**.

### Voting Process

The proposal process is outlined in the **Proposal Process Forum Post** created by the cofounder, Buns, and is accessible here: <https://forum.soulswap.finance/t/proposal-process/16>\
\
Additionally, when creating a proposal, you are able to utilize the template that is accessible for all community members, for your convenience. **Snapshot Proposals without a corresponding Forum Post and link to the Forum Post in the details of the Snapshot are considered invalid and will be deleted**. We request that you take note of this before drafting a proposal.

### Treasury

Every use of the treasury will require that the **multi-sig** sign it. The members of the multi-sig should only sign it if it is the will of the community and has had a passing vote by quorum. There must be a majority of signatures for a transaction to be approved.

At time of launch, the treasury will be entrusted to [**0xBuns**](https://twitter.com/0xBuns) and [**DeGatchi**](https://twitter.com/DeGatchi) until community governance milestones are met, and holders (chosen from the community) are in place.

# Premine Distribution

The table below describes the overall allocation of our pre-mined supply of 50M SOUL, of which any unused allocation is burnt into oblivion.

| **Protocol Stage** | **Share** | **Max. Allocation** | Allocated | Burned     |
| ------------------ | :-------: | ------------------- | --------- | ---------- |
| Public Ceremony    |    70%    | ~~35,000,000 SOUL~~ | 1,182,636 | 33,817,637 |
| Whitelist Vesting  |    15%    | ~~7,500,000 SOUL~~  | 0         | 7,500,000  |
| Airdrop Rewards    |    10%    | ~~5,000,000 SOUL~~  | 137,031   | 4,862,969  |
| Initial Liquidity  |     5%    | ~~2,500,000 SOUL~~  | 50,644    | 2,449,356  |
| **TOTAL (MAX)**    |    100%   | 50,000,000 SOUL     | 1,370,311 | 43,766,993 |

Any amount that is **left**, after our **whitelist** **vesting** period terminates, will be **burned**. Likewise, any **remaining** allocation, from our **public** **ceremony**, will also be **burned**.

After accounting for the burns, **50% of the FTM contributed will match the initial liquidity at a rate of 1 FTM to 1 SOUL up to a total of 2.5M SOUL**. Please note that the **initial liquidity** and the **airdrop rewards** will both be the ***lesser*****&#x20;of the maximum allocation and 5 and 10% of the circulating supply** (after accounting for burns), respectively.\
\
For example, suppose there are **17M SOUL** taken up during the **public ceremony** and the **whitelist vesting** periods. **Recall**: airdrop rewards are **10% of the total&#x20;*****adjusted*****&#x20;allocation.** \
\
The **adjusted allocation** would equal **17M / 85% = 20M**, therefore the **adjusted airdrop rewards** would be **10% of 20M** = **2M,** ~~not **5M**~~. The reason for this is to ensure contributors to our ceremony are provided with the peace of mind that ***airdrop rewards will always be a steady constant of 10% of the total raise, regardless of how much is raised*****.** Similarly, we have a guaranteed rate for the initial liquidity, so we require **5% of the total raised for the DAO allocation**, which is **50% of the total FTM raised**.<br>

# Allocation and Emissions

Overview of the emissions and distribution for Soul Power.

![](https://410881439-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F-MV5V3MW5VS3EKLI4bVK%2Fuploads%2F6T5zOsb1DRHYwdITIdDs%2Falloc.gif?alt=media\&token=d5fbbe19-af54-4710-bbf4-b41f7905c325)

## **Emissions Rate**

<table><thead><tr><th width="214.78288340034464">Variable</th><th width="180.33333333333331">Value</th><th>Details</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>Daily Emissions</td><td>250,000</td><td>Rewarded via Summoner.</td></tr><tr><td>Maximum Supply</td><td>250,000,000</td><td>Achieved after ~3 years.</td></tr><tr><td>Circulating Supply</td><td>Total - DAO Treasury</td><td>Check <a href="https://api.soulswap.finance/supply/circulating"><strong>here</strong></a> for most recent.</td></tr></tbody></table>

* **250,000 SOUL per day**
* **Multi-chain emissions:** will **never exceed 250,000 daily**.
* **Maximum Supply: 250M**
* **Note on maximum supply**: the DAO may vote for an extension, if necessary to maintain a stable ecosystem, but the emissions will **never exceed 250K daily** regardless.

### **Soul Supply Distribution**

* **75%** Community Rewards and Incentives
* **12.5%** Community-Owned DAO
* **12.5%** Operations (Team, Marketing, Partnerships, Advisors, etc)

### **Burning Mechanisms**

* **Burns** will occur **as the DAO deems fit**.
* **Note: 12.5% of emissions** are rewarded directly to the DAO for its discretion.

# Our Utility

Not every token serves a purpose, but our SOUL powers the entire ecosystem, we review how.

# Fee Sharing

Our exchange fees go towards both buying back and burning SOUL and adding to permanent liquidity of the SOUL-NATIVE pair, in order to establish deeper liquidity on each of our blockchains.

For **every swap** on our exchange, a **0.05% fee is collected to buy BACK & BURN** **SOUL**. \
\
Buybacks occur throughout the week and the total amount of **burnt SOUL is shared via Twitter**, **including a link to the burn transaction**. \
\
On the Fantom Opera Network: **SOUL-FTM** is added to **permanent liquidity** when decomposing fees on any Soul Ecosystem pairs, including all pairs that contain: SOUL and our bonds based off (%) usage of exchange pairs, which is determined by the ratio of the volume to the liquidity for a given pool, such that the more volume and less relative liquidity amount, the higher the usage rate and thus more profitable the pair.

# iOS Mobile Premium

Soul Power (SOUL) is designed to unlock new features for the SoulSwap mobile application, which will become available on the Apple App Store on (or before) **Halloween, which is on October 31st, 2023**.

**How will SOUL be used?**

* We have a few features that are exclusive for SOUL holders, which will be revealed on our launch day. If you would like to receive the opportunity to test our beta app, please click the link [**here**](https://testflight.apple.com/join/gvSwgiee) or by sending a message to [**Buns**](https://twitter.com/0xBuns) or [**SoulSwap**](https://twitter.com/SoulSwapFinance) on Twitter.&#x20;

**What is "AURA" and how does AURA work?**

AURA is designed to represent a member's involvement with the Soul Protocol. Basically, it captures how much value one provides in our ecosystem, by applying a simple calculation to determine one's AURA power:

|                              |
| ---------------------------- |
| SOUL Balance                 |
| SOUL-NATIVE LP Balance       |
| SOUL-USDC LP Balance         |
| Pending SOUL Rewards (Bonds) |

### **Note on Asset Balances**

* **Balances**: AURA is captured from your *wallet and deposits* in of our farms.&#x20;
  * **For Example: SOUL-FTM** in your wallet and **SOUL-FTM** deposited in farms.
    * Also applies to **SOUL** -- both *wallet and staked SOUL is accounted for*.
* **When calculating the value of each LP:** we take the underlying SOUL value of each pair, which is simply twice (2x) the *amount of SOUL per LP*.
  * **For Example**: suppose 1 SOUL-AVAX LP contains 100 SOUL each
    * **Step One**: Double the 100 SOUL to capture points per LP = 200 SOUL
    * **Step Two**: Multiply your LP balance by 200 SOUL = 200 SOUL x LP

#### *We handle the calculations for you, which is **available on your home Dashboard** once you download the iOS mobile app, so you can always know where you stand.*

# Our Exchange

SoulSwap's exchange allows anyone to be able to swap cryptocurrencies and provide liquidity without KYC or third party involved, allowing for a smooth, effortless experience.

{% endcontent-ref %}

# Swapping Tokens

The swap interface allows anyone to exchange one cryptocurrency into another cryptocurrency without KYC or third party involved, allowing for a smooth, effortless experience.

Navigate to our interface accessible via the designated URL:[ app.soulswap.finance](https://beta.soulswap.finance)<br>

![Example of what your page looks like when exchanging FTM for SOUL on our exchange found here.](https://410881439-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F-MV5V3MW5VS3EKLI4bVK%2Fuploads%2FusabiJUi1BXTzRvpuplq%2FScreen%20Shot%202022-03-08%20at%2012.10.02%20AM.png?alt=media\&token=103f8ef1-ba49-45de-8523-c13be4c3caff)

Select the currencies you are swapping. In our case, we will be swapping our **FTM** for **SOUL**.

Input the **amount** as the amount of currency you want to exchange FROM.

Confirm Prompt Details:\
\
**1. Amount From**: this is the amount of the FROM currency to be exchanged.

**2. Amount Received:** this is the amount of the TO currency expected in return for the given FROM amount.

**3. The details of the transaction**: price, minimum received, price impact, and liquidity provider fee).

**4. Swap (Anyway) button**: enables us to proceed with our transaction.\
\
**Note**: you may have noticed that the amount of **SOUL** (from token) has changed in the **Confirm Prompt**. This is because users like yourself are also swapping, in real time, which causes the value of each currency in the pair (in this case, **SOUL/FTM**) to exchange. \
\
Now there will be a prompt to wait for confirmation, the a MetaMask notification at the top right of our screen, providing you with a few options to choose from.\
\
Notice at the top of the MetaMask notification the account you are sending FTM to and address, the address belongs to the contract we are sending our FTM to in order to activate the swap function, which will send us the equivalent TO tokens, in our demonstrated case SOUL in a decentralized fashion. Confirm this notification to approve. This will submit the transaction to be mined and, if successful, we will receive the coveted SOUL.

Ensure your transaction was successful by viewing your updated balances for the FROM token and the TO token. Congratulations, you now own **SoulPower** -- take a bow!&#x20;

# Providing Liquidity

Providing liquidity is simplified by our sleek, user-friendly interface where end users may provide liquidity in a decentralized manner to our community-owned exchange.

![An example of adding FTM and SOUL as liquidity on the SoulSwap exchange, accessible here.](https://410881439-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F-MV5V3MW5VS3EKLI4bVK%2Fuploads%2F1PI5fkbICnJjQ7rV7Jx1%2FScreen%20Shot%202022-03-08%20at%2012.12.14%20AM.png?alt=media\&token=eb8da7eb-c883-433f-a552-edd30972d1cd)

Now that we've swapped some **FTM** for **SOUL**, we may now proceed with providing liquidity to the **SOUL/FTM** pair to begin earning transaction fees from users that are swapping tokens within that pool by navigating to our **Pools** tab and selecting "**Add Liquidity**".

Now, **input your desired amount**. The interface will automatically match how much you've input in the corresponding currency. This is done so you don't have to do all the nitty-gritty inputs that operate under the hood. We've inputted **1 FTM** to begin with and the interface automatically calculates how much **SOUL** we ought to provide to match the initial input. \
\
All we need to do is click on the "Approve SOUL" button so that we're giving the contract access to our SOUL to move it into an LP pool to create a token pair, after we select "Supply".&#x20;

Note: when selecting "Supply", a modal will prompt you with details of the transaction. If you like what you see, select "Confirm Supply" and use your wallet to confirm.\
\
At the top of the screen, you'll see a notification of the successful transaction and at the bottom you should see the updated LP tokens in your wallet.

Congratulations, you just provided liquidity to the **SOUL-FTM** pair!&#x20;

If you want to provide more liquidity or remove liquidity from an existing pair, click on corresponding `+` or `-` button. However, we are looking to earn **SOUL** in the farm, so we don't remove any of our liquidity.

Now, we are able to Summoner (aka Farm) our **SOUL** and earn extra **SOUL** on top of the fees we earn from providing liquidity. We'll discuss this on the next page ([**Soul Farms**](/docs/user-guides/rewards)). See you there!

# Our Incentives

Farms are where you are able to deposit your LP token(s), you received from providing liquidity, to earn SoulSwap's native utility token -- SOUL.

# Liquidity Mining

SoulPower is farm by our liquidity providers as they provide the lifeblood of the Soul Ecosystem. We've designed a way to provide rewards to our summoners while minimizing instability.

![Cannot see any of the options displayed above? ## **Using the Summoner (Farms)**

1. **Navigate to Summoner**: found [**here**](https://app.soulswap.finance/farm) and select your desired pool to open the detailed view.
2. **Connect:** make sure you're connect by using the "Connect Wallet" option at the top right.
3. **Approve Stake**: enter any amount and select this button to allow the contract to stake.
4. **Enter Amount**: enter the amount of the LP to stake or use "MAX" to enter your entire balance.
5. **Click 'Stake' Button**: this button confirms your stake amount.

# Soul Staking

SeanceCircle (SEANCE) is the place you want to go when you want to HODL while earning. Deposit your SOUL to receive SEANCE in return, which may be used to interact with our DeFi Suite.

SeanceCircle functions as the means by which one may unlock the full potential of your SoulPower. **SEANCE** represents staked **SOUL** and is required collateral for unlocking your staked **SOUL**. Namely, **the only way to unstake your SOUL is by burning your SEANCE.**\
\
We do this in order to add intrinsic value to **SEANCE** as a means of account, such that every **SEANCE** in circulation represent a **SOUL** that is staked in our protocol. In other words, one less **SOUL** on the market and one more loyal member of our SeanceCircle.

# Soul Summoner

Soul Summoner is the smart contract that has the power to create more Soul Power over time. We carefully crafted roles, variables, and structs to make this into the epitome of multi-chain execellence.

**Soul** is an ecosystem ingrained with a system of checks and balances and ingrained with multi-chain expansion in mind from the very start. We make use of hierarchical roles and variables that connect the Soul Summoner across infinitely-many blockchains.&#x20;

Keep on reading for more. There is a lot happening under the hood. The **upcoming pages break down how we manage to execute our goals** in a way that makes unlike any other project out there.

### Divine Roles

In the constructor, we channel the roles of **Isis** and **Ma'at** -- ancient Egyptian Goddesses of **magic** and **cosmic** **order**. The house of **Isis** is able to create new liquidity pools, while **Ma'at** is able to adjust the allocation provided to each pool created. Naturally, as the Goddess of Cosmic Order, **Ma'at** is able to counteract the forces of **Isis. Soul** is an ecosystem ingrained with a system of checks and balances.

```
// channels the power of the isis and ma'at to the deployer (deployer)
constructor() {
    isis = keccak256("isis"); // goddess of magic who creates pools
    maat = keccak256("maat"); // goddess of cosmic order who sets allocations
    _divinationCeremony(isis, isis, team); // isis role created
    _divinationCeremony(maat, isis, dao); // maat role created
}
```

# Soul Power

Soul Power is our native utility token that represents your share of the Soul Finance Organization.

### Overview

Soul Power is the primary utility token utilized across every aspect of the Soul Finance Ecosystem and is your key to all of the mechanism and applications we roll out over time.

Similar to the Soul Summoner, the Soul Power contract is controlled by distinct roles belonging to separate houses each having a system of internal checks to ensure fair governance over the Protocol.

## Soul Power Divination Ceremony

In the constructor, we channel the roles of the **Anunnaki** and **Thoth** -- supreme overlords and the ancient Egyptian God of **magic and wisdom**. The **House of Anunnaki** is able to grant access to the **House of Thoth** and the **House of Thoth** is able to mint Soul Power. In the event that **Thoth** grows too power-hungry and mints beyond bounds, **Anunnaki** is able to revoke the power vested in the member of the House of Thoth.

```
// channels the power of the anunnaki and thoth to the deployer (deployer)
constructor() {
    anunnaki = keccak256("anunnaki"); // alpha supreme
    thoth = keccak256("thoth"); // god of wisdom and magic
    _divinationCeremony(anunnaki, anunnaki, msg.sender);
    _divinationCeremony(thoth, anunnaki, msg.sender);
}
```

{% hint style="info" %}
&#x20;During the divination ceremony, the deployer is vested the powers of both houses and crowns the house of Anunnaki as supreme.
{% endhint %}
